Telling stories through videos is the best part of the Communications field for me and I'm grateful to have worked on meaningful projects that created an impact. The best part of any project is being able to accurately portray a client's vision for their product or service!
Project: 75th Anniversary Video
Client: United Nations Trinidad & Tobago
Details:
I worked with the United Nations in Trinidad and Tobago to bring to life the country's contribution to the United Nations as part of the organization's 75th Anniversary. I also partnered with their Communications Officer to develop the script for the video. Once the script was created, I contacted the interviewees and filmed several segments that would form the video. After filming, I edited the video using Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop) They gave me creative freedom to include visual elements such as the old photo reel animation, images emerging out of the blue background and the kind of font type to use despite branding guidelines.
Project: Our Immigration Stories
Client: As Told By Canadian Immigrants
Details:
As part of an ongoing series, I was commissioned by a well-known YouTuber to share my immigration journey to Canada. Besides the vulnerability that came with sharing such a personal part of my life on camera, I took a pivotal role in the production process by handling location setup, camera operations, and lighting design. I was also given the opportunity to shape the narrative by editing the video using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Project: World Children's Day 2020
Client: United Nations Trinidad & Tobago
Details:
For World Children's Day, the United Nations in Trinidad and Tobago wanted to talk about the social effects the pandemic has had on children. To do this, I worked with their Communications Officer to develop two videos. We created a script and found the best interviewees for the video. I loved working on this project because I got to understand how affected children in the country were by the pandemic and to tell their story in a way that would resonate with viewers.
Project: Spongebob Squarepants Krabby Patty Recipe
Client: Centennial College
I love when the real world mixes with cartoons! As an assignment for my Visual Communications class, I had to create a sequence video. Being a fan of animations, I decided to do a guide on making the famous Krabby Patty. For this assignment I used Premiere Pro and experimented with masking the words of the introduction.
Project: The Woodworker’s Christmas Miracle
Client: Centennial College
Telling this woodworker's story was such an amazing experience. This video was also for my Visual Communications course where I was asked to create a segment. It was an exciting task to take the raw interview clips and arrange them in a way that would give an accurate depiction of the the woodworker's life.
